The Canada Express Entry program is one of the most preferred and convenient immigration programs. The program lets candidates from around the world send in their applications to migrate to Canada and supervises applications for three Federal Immigration programs. The entire process is digitalized and must be completed through the official portal of the government of Canada. A profile has to be created in the portal with details that include educational qualifications, work experience, and other relevant skills. These attributes help in scoring points in the point-based system used by the Canadian government to check the eligibility of the candidates.

Express Entry, as the name suggests, provides a faster and more accessible route to acquiring a Canada PR. This article will, however, change your perspective about the five most misconstrued myths about Canada Express Entry.

Myth 1:  Express Entry is the only method to acquire a Canadian economic Immigration

Fact – Express Entry manages and supervises most of the Federal economic immigration programs but is not the only approach.

Other means, like the PNP (Provincial Nominee Program), are provided by 11 Canadian territories and provinces. The PNP elects candidates wholly based on their skills, work experience, educational qualifications, and skill relevancy per the market requirements. The candidates who need to clear the Express Entry program opt for the PNP program. The province of Quebec has its own set of immigration rules and schedules. It has the liberty to have appointed candidates for PR in Quebec.

Myth 2: Upon getting selected for the Express Entry program, you are given an indefinite period to apply for PR.

Fact – You will be given a timeframe within which you are required to apply for Canada PR as an Express Entry candidate.

Candidates receive an ITA (Invitation to apply) post getting selected in the Express Entry program, which gives them a chance to apply for PR. The response application to the ITA must be submitted and reverted within 60 days of receiving the invitation. Documents like identification proof, educational certificates, work experience, and references as an employee.

Myth 3: You must have a job offer to participate in the Express Entry Pool

Fact: Arranging a job or having a job offer isn't mandatory.

Having a job offer in hand is always beneficial as it can promote the chances of your application getting selected. In cases where a Canada-based employer employs you, it can directly impact your application on a good day. The application you submit is solely evaluated based on the CRS (Comprehensive Ranking system) that is a part of the Express Entry system. If you need more points for having an employer in Canada sponsor you, you can seek provincial nomination or try improving your application.

Myth 4: The Express Entry profile cannot be updated

Fact: The Express Entry profile can be edited.

While your application is still in the Express Entry pool, you can make the required changes. The profile must be updated with revised data on the primary factors. The factors, including work expertise, language proficiency, and level of education, will directly sum up the points in the CRS system.

Myth 5: Express Entry is the easiest way to migrate to Canada.

Fact: Express Entry is comparatively easy but has strict and uncompromising evaluation.

Express Entry has made migration easy for many potential candidates, but the process of reviewing the application could be more relaxed and flexible. The government of Canada maintains strict conduct in assessing and providing PR visas. The program is mainly focused on the economic immigration of candidates who possess the required skills and experience to meet the market's needs. The processing time may differ, but the process of reviewing will remain the same in all circumstances.
