UK Visas

526,000+ UK visas were offered to Indians in 2017 that was 10%+ over 2016. This includes the students and travelers from India. The latest statistics revealed by the UK National Statistics Office have revealed the data for 2017.

The UK National Statistics Office has also given the break-up of the UK Visitor Visas offered to Indians in 2017. It was 427, 000 visas with an increase of 11%. The numbers of UK Student visas offered to Indian was 14, 500 that was an increase of 28% over 2016, as quoted by the India GB News.

The UK High Commissioner to India Sir Dominic Asquith KCMG said that these figures demonstrate the enduring strength of the ties’ of India and the UK. It is delightful that increased numbers of Indian national are arriving in the UK. This is for business travel, tourism, study, and work, added Dominic Asquith.

The specific increase of 28% in the UK visas offered to students is welcoming said the High Commissioner. This demonstrates that world-class UK universities are yet again attracting the best and brightest youth from India, added the envoy.

Sir Dominic Asquith KCMG further elaborated on the UK Visa Services offered to Indians. He said that around 90% of the visa applications are approved that is on par with the global standards. Almost 99% of the Indian applicants of UK visas obtain approval within the service standard of 15 days. The UK has the highest numbers of Visa Application Centers in Indian than in any other nation, he added.

In January 2018, the UK government launched an initiative ‘Beat the Peak’. It called upon the Indian applicants for UK visas in 2018 to file their applications well in advance.
