UK Tier 4 Visa

Overseas students can apply for the UK Student Visa – General Tier 4 if they are over 16 years of age. They must also be able to understand, write, read, and speak English. Applicants are also required to possess monetary ability to pay the course fee and support themselves. They are also required to fulfill the educational requirements.

UK Student Visa applicants must prove their proficiency in the English language. This can be achieved by securing the required bands in IELTS test. Interested and qualified overseas candidates can apply online. The Visa processing times vary according to the nationalities of the applicants, as quoted by the Siasat.

Applicants of the UK Student Visa are required to pay the Visa fees and health care surcharge. The students can arrive in the UK 1 week prior to the commencement of the course if it is for 6 months or lesser duration. They can arrive 1 month prior if the duration of the course exceeds 6 months.

Overseas students in the UK can be employed in diverse jobs. This, however, depends on the course chosen by them.

Eligibility criteria for UK Student Visa – General Tier 4 include having:

  • The unconditional place offered on a course from a Licensed Tier 4 sponsor
  • Adequate funds for supporting oneself and course payment – amount varies based on individual circumstances
  • CAS – Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies Number offered by the education provider. This must be included in the Visa application.

The application for the UK Student Visa must be submitted within 6 months of receiving the CAS.
