EU Universities

The Universities in Europe must rise to the changing demands from overseas students as per the latest report from QS. It is a top global higher education firm offering Rankings of Universities. QS also offers solutions for recruiting and retaining students and international relations.

The largest of its kind unique survey collated views of 75,000 prospective students across the world from 191 nations. The report for EU Universities focuses on 23,600 prospective overseas students who claimed to be considering the following nations in Europe:

Latvia, Czechia, Spain, Ireland, Hungary, Finland, Belgium, Austria, Denmark, Italy, France, Sweden, the Netherlands, and Germany

Now is the time for the European universities to respond to the challenge in the overseas education market. They must rise as welcoming, tolerant, and open places to study recommends the QS report.

The EU report is titled “Rising to the international recruitment challenge: Growing Global Education. It is the 7th iteration of the yearly ISS - International Student Survey by QS, as quoted by the Study International.

The strategies and solutions for the recruitment of overseas students at European universities must be informed by shifting political dynamics says the report.

One of the prime concerns while choosing an overseas study destination for prospective students is to ensure that the nation is welcoming. This while considering a University in Europe as per the ISS for this year.

59% of the respondents in the study said that the extent to which the nation was welcoming for overseas students was a chief criterion while selecting the place to study. The election of Donald Trump in the US and the Brexit in the UK has conveyed a potentially negative message to overseas students.

The Universities in Europe have the chance to send a divergent message of being more open and welcoming. It is highly crucial now for them to pay attention to the communications preferences of the students.

Social Media is now the first contact point for prospective students while collating details on a diverse range of subjects. It is not limited to just their decisions for study, says the QS report.
