How much does it cost to study abroad?

Before anyone thinks of studying abroad, the first thing that will come to their mind is the amount of money they would have to spend. The cost of studying overseas depends on various factors such as the country where you would want to study, the educational institution you would be enrolling in, the type of accommodation you would be renting, the course you would be joining, and the location of the university and college you are planning to attend.

Significant aspects that influence your study abroad costs

The major expense one has to take into account to study abroad is tuition fees. It also varies from one course to another, one university to another, and one country to another. For instance, if you study in a public university in a country like Germany, the tuition fee amount would be negligible. This is because the state runs such universities.

The other major expense you must bear when studying overseas is accommodation. As not all universities overseas provide accommodation within the campus, you would have to rent a room or an apartment, which would cost considerably more.

The cost of food, personal items, books, and all others could be considered as living costs. These, too, vary based on your living standards. Of course, most of the students try to pay for a portion of it by taking up part-time jobs in places where they study.

If you take accommodation within the college/university or close to it, you would not have to spend much on transportation. But, in case you live far away from the campus, this will be a major expense.

Visa fee: The cost of visa for most of the countries ranges from $121 to $363.

In Canada, the average annual tuition fee would be $14,860, and your living costs would be $5,700.

In Australia, you would have to pay tuition fees averaging $16,730 per year and living expenses of about $6,505.

In the United Kingdom, you would have to pay tuition fees averaging $19,395 per year and living expenses of about $5,996.

If you are in Germany, you would have to pay a tuition fee averaging $1,465 per year, and the expenses for living would be $4,167.
