Options to move to Canada from Dubai
There are several options to migrate to Canada from Dubai, these include:
- Express Entry program
- Provincial Nominee Program
- Business immigration program
- Family class immigration
- Canadian Experience class
Calculating your eligibility for these programs is the first step in the process of migrating to Canada.
Express Entry program
With 108,500 ITAs awarded so far this year, the Express Entry program has contributed 332,750 Invitations to Apply (ITA) toward the government’s overall objective of 1.23 million. One of Canada’s most popular immigration schemes is Express Entry.
To qualify under this program, you should be able to get a minimum of 67 points out of 100 in the eligibility factors given below:
Age: Those between the ages of 18 and 35 receive the most points. Those over the age of 35 receive fewer points, while the maximum age to qualify is 45.
Education: For this category, your educational qualifications must meet Canadian criteria for higher secondary education.
Work experience: You must have at least one year of full-time work experience to qualify for minimum points. More points are awarded for more years of job experience. Your occupation must be listed in the National Occupational Classification as Skill Type 0 or Skill Level A or B. (NOC).
Language ability: Your IELTS score must be less than two years old and must contain at least six bands. If you are fluent in French, you will receive bonus points.
Adaptability: If your spouse or common-law partner is willing to move to Canada with you, you will receive an additional 10 points for adaptability.
Arranged employment: If you have a genuine offer from a Canadian employer, you can earn up to 10 points.
The Canada Express Entry Program grades PR applicants using a points-based methodology. Qualifications, experience, Canadian employment status, and provincial/territorial nomination all help applicants receive points. The more points you have, the more likely you are to receive an invitation to apply (ITA) for permanent residency. A Comprehensive Ranking Score or CRS, is used to assign points to applicants.
There will be a minimum cutoff score for each Express Entry draw. All applicants with a CRS score equal to or higher than the cutoff score will receive an ITA. If more than one nominee has a score equal to the cutoff, the one with the longest presence in the Express Entry pool will be granted an ITA.
To apply under the Express Entry system, you do not need an employment offer in Canada. However, depending on the skill level, a job offer in Canada will enhance your CRS points from 50 to 200. Express Entry streams are also available in Canada’s provinces to assist them in selecting talented people from the Express Entry pool.
A provincial nomination boosts the CRS score by 600 points, ensuring an ITA.
With each Express Entry draw, which is generally conducted every two weeks by the Canadian government, the CRS score changes.
You can, however enter Canada on a work permit to work in Canada and then seek for permanent status later. You must have a job offer to obtain a work permit. The type of work permit you need is determined by the type of employment you hold.
Provincial Nominee Program
The Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) was established to help Canada’s provinces and territories in selecting immigration candidates who are willing to settle in a specific province or territory and has the skills and competencies to contribute to the province’s or territory’s economic growth.
Every PNP is tailored to the labor market demands of the province. You will be able to find a provincial stream that matches your skills. To be eligible for the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), you must possess the required skills, education, work experience, and language proficiency.
If the province believes your skills meet their demands, they’ll issue you a provincial nomination, which will give you 600 of the total 1,200 points you’ll need on your CRS, allowing you to move up the candidate pool.
