10 Indian students bag British Council's IELTS awards

To commemorate the 25th anniversary of IELTS (International English Language Testing System), the British Council has organized British Council IELTS awards for 2015. It will offer Rs.3.9 million for accolades in the educational sector to the students from South Asia. For the first time students from Nepal and Bhutan will be a part of this ceremony. Ten Indian students will be awarded with the IELTS awards 2015 to help them fund their studies in abroad. This year the number of the awards given to Indian students have been increased from eight to ten and to widen the SAARC region, awards are extended to the students of Bhutan and Nepal also. As quoted by a national daily, Sarah Deverall, Director Examinations India & Customer Service South Asia, British Council said "the British Council IELTS awards will be a positive step for the Indian students to pursue higher educational studies abroad." The students can show their ability in English language with the help of IELTS. At least 40 students from India has been presented by British Council IELTS awards for varied range of courses offered around the world.  Among many courses were Law in the United States, dramatic arts in the United Kingdom and engineering in Germany. Deepika Pradyumna is the recipient of British Council IELTS awards 2012 and she further went on with her studies in M.Sc in Molecular Medicines at University College London, UK.
