India

You’ve to agree that many Gulf nations offer excellent opportunities in the parameters of standard of living, jobs, travel, food, sightseeing, et al. And with due respect to all other Middle Eastern nations, Kuwait happens to get extra brownie points for obvious reasons. Interestingly, now travelling to Kuwait and back need not be another painstaking task. Yeah, really! Sounds exciting? Then, simply read on, mate.

The Indian government has revised the fees for visa and passport services, as reported in a press release issued by the Indian Embassy in Kuwait. The press release added, frequent Kuwaiti visitors to India from Kuwait (both native Kuwaitis and expatriates residing in Kuwait) are advised to take 5-year or 1-year multiple entry business visas to India. This means to-and-fro travel between these two countries has become a lot simpler, cheaper, and more convenient.

Excluding service charges of KD 3.250 by CKGS, Kuwait, and KD 1 for ICWF by the Embassy, the fee structure for visas for Kuwaitis is as follows:

Business visa for 1 year/multiple entry – KD 38

Business visa for 5 years/multiple entry – KD 63

Transit visa, 15 days single/double entry – KD7

Student visa for 1 year/triple entry – KD 24

Medical visa for 1 year/multiple entry – KD 38

Medical visa for 6 months/multiple entry – KD 25

* Employment visa for up to 1 year/multiple entry – KD 38

Note: KD is Kuwaiti Dinar (1 KD = 220.92 INR)

The new press report advises all those travelling to India regularly to apply for tourist visa (6-month multiple entry) or long-term business visa (5-year or 1-year, multiple entry). All visas are granted within 72 hours. In emergency cases, the Embassy will also accept the visa applications at its Visa Wing.

The visa officer, Arvind Srivastava, may be contacted on 22550600 Extn. 279 and for passport related queries applicants may contact K.K. Pahel, First Secretary (Consular) Tel: 97229948.

Fee structure for passport is as under (Exclusive of service charge of KD 3.250 by CKGS, Kuwait and KD 1.000 for ICWF by the Embassy):

* New Passport with 10 years validity – KD 23

* Jumbo Passport (60 pages) – KD 31

* New Passport for Minor below 18 years – KD 15.5

* New Passport in Lieu of Damaged/Lost Passport – KD 46

* Passport for Newborn Baby – KD 31
