The USA has always been a top destination for students wishing to study abroad. There are many reasons for this including the presence of 14 of the top 20 universities in the world.

International students prefer to study here owing to the presence of highly accomplished professors, and the numerous research opportunities. The country also offers flexible academic choices.

As compared to other common countries favored by international students, tuition fees in the US are often more costly.

 Although this is true, it doesn't mean that in the US you can't find affordable colleges and universities. There are educational institutions that manage to find the right balance between costs and results and have tremendous value for money.

According to a US News survey of 355 rated schools that enrolled and registered at least 100 foreign students, 15 of the most accessible colleges in the South and Midwest are regional universities.

Annual costs for international students in these universities range from USD 26, 500 to USD 13,750.  To help you here is a list if the 15 most affordable universities in the US.

  1. Western Michigan University

Western Michigan University, including those in the Haworth College of Business, the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences and the College of Education and Human Development, offers more than 140 undergraduate programs and several master's degrees as well. The tuition fees range from 13,000 to 16,000 USD per year.

  1. Arkansas State University

More than 160 degree programs are offered by Arkansas State University, including master's programs in business and health. A variety of bachelor's, master's and post-graduate degree programs are available online at the university. Students can enroll in the Structured Learning Assistance program at Arkansas State, which provides additional academic support for challenging classes. The tuition fees range from 8,000 to 16,000 USD per year.

  1. Auburn University at Montgomery

The University of Auburn at Montgomery is a public institution that was founded in 1967. It has a cumulative enrollment of 4,523 undergraduates. It utilizes a semester-based academic calendar.

Health Professions and Related Programs; Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services; Computer and Information Sciences and Support Services; Education; and Psychology are the most common majors at Auburn University in Montgomery.

The tuition fees range from 9,000 to 18,000 USD per year.

  1. Valdosta State University

Valdosta State University is a public institution which was established in 1906. Using a semester-based academic calendar, it has a total undergraduate enrollment of 8,590.
