My journey as a Journalist from India to Canada

Born into a family of professors and scientists, I was constantly exposed to literature and current affairs. I lived in a joint family with my grandparents, uncles, aunts, and cousins. Spending all my childhood with each of them exposed me to various fields of knowledge and insight. Our family's daily routine was to discuss politics and news at the dining table. Therefore, I was a bright student good at all subjects from a very early age. I even participated in interstate quiz competitions and received many accolades for those.

I went to study mass communication and journalism and did exceptionally well in my graduation. After completing my twelfth, I knew that the world needed someone to show them the reality and the truth behind everything. Since childhood, I was always encouraged to choose the fact, stand for them, and enlighten the world with my knowledge, logic, and truth. I thought journalism was the profession I should go for, and I did.

After graduation, I did a nine-month course from India's best institute of mass communication. I learned a lot there and got incredible exposure to journalism work. Just before completing the course, I received an offer from a Canada-based media company to do a one-year internship job in Canada that I applied for. I took that offer and went to Canada for my first work stint as a journalist.

I came back home after completing one year and was intrigued by the experience of working in Canada. Now, I wanted to go to Canada and continue doing what I was doing there. I came across an immigration company, Y-Axis, and followed them throughout my journey to Canada. It was a pleasure working with them!

Express Entry System

Y-Axis guides you through the entire Express Entry system that has been established to fulfill labor shortages in the country.

Let’s discuss all the assistance they provide in detail!

  • IELTS coaching: I scored well in my IELTS exam. I even took their IELTS coaching services to ensure that there is no loopholes in my preparations.
  • Educational Credential Assessment report: The Y-Axis team prepared an Educational Credential Assessment report for me.
  • Job Search: The team Y-Axis research meticulously to select the most suitable jobs for you. The company has designed job search services to find a good job for their clients.
  • Visa Interview: Y-Axis also prepared me for the visa interview.

Invitation to Apply

After a few months of fulfilling the requirements and appearing for the tests, I got a job offer from a leading media company in Canada for their Toronto office. I received an invitation to apply soon after. The ITA resulted from those detailed discussions during the dinner, that participation in the quiz shows, and exposure to the real world during my grads and post-grad programs.

Applying for Canada PR

With the help of Y-Axis, I was able to apply for Canada permanent residency. They even prepared a requirement checklist for the Canada PR application to ease up the process for me.

In Toronto, Ontario, Canada

The processing took six months, and we took the first available flight after we received the confirmation. My mother and aunt accompanied me while traveling to the country and stayed with me until I settled completely. We traveled a bit in the country, and they both left for India. It was so good to be back in Canada. The country welcomed me again with all its warmth.

My next step would be to bring my younger cousin brother to Canada for his higher studies, as the country has some great educational institutions. And will contact Y-Axis to help him get a study visa to Canada.

If you are also interested in immigrating to Canada, contact Y-Axis – the right path is the Y-path, i.e., Y-Axis.
