Students can work on and off campus while studying at the university. Upon graduating, they can get a Canadian work permit of up to 3 years.

The University provides many facilities to the budding entrepreneurs. OnRamp is a huge facility available for startups free of rent. It provides workspace, meeting rooms, and conference facilities. The university has programs that fund budding entrepreneurs. They help them to go to networking events, conferences, and trade shows.

The University has fellowships and scholarships to motivate and support entrepreneurs. Competitions with funding is another program conducted for startups. The University’s incubator program mentors the students. It facilitates introductions between its startups and investors.

Successful ventures

  • Trexo Robotics makes robotic exoskeletons for children. The venture was started by Manmeet Maggu, an MBA graduate, and Rahul Udasi, a Master's in Engineering holder. Both are from the University of Toronto.
  • BuzzClip developed a sensor that’s wearable and detects obstacles for blind and those with partial sight. It was started by Bin Liu, an Engineering graduate from the University of Toronto, and Arjun Mali.

These innovative enterprises born from the university proves its capability to develop entrepreneurs.
